5 lb Smack down results are in!!

Wow – what a challenging few weeks it has been! I just re-read my last blog and boy – I was all wound up wasn’t I??

If you followed my progress on my fan page you probably know most of this already, but I want to share here as well.

There were definitely some food challenges, some health issues and work issues…. Food-wise, not horrible but there were some sugar cravings; health-wise I ended up with some lower back pain which I was told was caused by IT band tightness; and work-wise I now need to be in the office 5 days a week which makes it impossible to go to my husband’s boot camp. Good grief I feel like I was smacked down…. but hey when life hands you lemons you make lemon aid right? Ugh – did I really just say that???

So how did I move forward….

  • I didn’t beat myself up for my slip-ups… Rule number one – NO ONE is allowed to beat themselves up for slipping-up. If you are following a specific meal plan to drop some lbs and you have a slip, do your best to make a better choice starting with your very next meal.  However, if this becomes a habit – know you are impacting your results.
  • Lower back pain – I did have to take the running out for the most part, I did take hot Epsom salt baths, I did go to the chiropractor and I even got a massage (was not a fun one though), which helped.  I also started to stretch more and started using the foam roller. Rule number two – EVERYONE should take time out of their day to warm-up, stretch, and do whatever else they need to do to take care of their aches and pains…. It is your body telling you something – listen to it,  or it will make you listen.
  • Being in the office 5 days a week – I am fortunate to have a gym here in my building so everyday I go down from 12:30 to 1:30 to use it. Sometime it’s for yoga, sometimes it for cardio, sometimes it’s for strength training. Rule number three – schedule time for YOURSELF each and everyday to move. This is what is going to keep your body, mind and spirit alive and well.  If it’s a nice day take advantage of the outdoors and get the benefit of the sunlight.

Ok – enough of that – here are my results, which I must say I am quite proud of being that they were between the Thanksgiving and Christmas stretch…. drum roll please…….

  • Weight: -2.5 lbs
  • Waist: -.75
  • Low Waist: – 2.0 (no doubt sugar inflammation, water and bloat)
  • Hips: -.75
  • Thigh: -.75 x 2 (1.50)

Total inches lost…… a whopping 5 inches!!!

Ha – I guess in wasn’t a 5 lb smack down but a 5 inch smack down – woo hoo!!
