Move

Just one step at a time is all it takes… One turns into two, which turns into 20….

Obviously not everyone is at the same fitness level. Gosh, when I first started getting myself back in shape it was not pretty, but the key was I started to move and slowly got stronger.

Don’t make the mistake of over committing to hours of exercise – less is more. You don’t want to discourage yourself before you even get started. Just start with 10 minutes a day and then grow from there. I started walking, then added stretching, yoga and then strength training. Once my level of fitness moved up I started to dabble in metabolic training and Intervals which is one of the fastest ways to transform your body, and a method I discuss in great detail in my Unlocking the Secret to Success program. An example of Interval Training is alternating between walking and running which increases the metabolic after-burn.

People, Fitness is progressive, it does not happen overnight. We all have to start somewhere and get to decide on our own fitness level. Maybe you just want to get strong and healthy enough to play with your children or grandchildren, maybe you want to be fit enough to hike or kayak, maybe you want to be a fitness model or maybe you just want to look fabulous at 50 (wink). It’s all up to you. Find something you enjoy and stick with it!
