That’s right – me who was 127 lbs on my 50th birthday last August 11th! What the heck!
My weight has been hanging around 151 to 152 for the last few week – of course down from just under 160 lbs…. but still not pretty on this little frame. I have obviously found what I need to do to maintain, which would be all well and good if that is what I wanted to do. Unfortunately I have a whole summer wardrobe that I can barely squeeze into. Again – food will get you 80% of the way, picking up your cardio and weight resistance training will take you across the finish line. This week my goal is to break 150 lbs- I don’t care if it’s 149.8. My current plans have not gone as I had hoped this past week due to the extreme weather, however the heat wave is breaking tomorrow. No more excuses.
I’m not sure what I can realistically commit to at this point – the key word being “realistically”. I know what I won’t do, so the question becomes “what will I do?”…
– I have been walking 2 miles with Chula each morning – that I can realistically change that to 2.5.
– I had committed to doing my AHB build/burn and sculpt workouts Mon / Wed and Friday…. Love the sculpt and burn – but not feeling the burn – so I will commit to doing 2 circuits of sculpt on Monday and build on Wednesday.
– There is no reason I can’t do C25K week 1 on Tuesday and Thursday morning with Chula with the heat coming down. I will commit to that this week.
– Friday – I commit to doing my treadmill hike before I take Chula for her walk.
– Again, Kayaking will be a bonus weather permitting….
You can’t always be balls to the walls…. It will turn you completely off. This is my push week, next week may be more of the same depending how I feel once I’ve gotten though the week. I have to remember why I am doing this – for my health, so I don’t have to buy a new wardrobe, so I am physical fit to enjoy my life, so I can feel good in the skin I’m in, what ever that is. What can you commit to this week? What is the reason behind your goals? Remember anything you do that involves your body should be for you and you alone. Not for a loved one, or for someone you want to impress. This is all about you and only you. Life is too short to worry about what other people think about you – plus – I love this and read it all the time… What other people think of you is none of your business…. Fun right?
That’s it – I look forward to reporting in next Saturday and breaking 150!!!
