Get out of your head!!

So – I wrote this post around the beginning of September and forgot to hit publish 😯 … after re-reading it, I still wanted to share it with you – enjoy!!

…I woke up this morning feeling completely trapped in my own head and overwhelmed by all the things I need to get done.

My friend Silke shared with me once that running clears her head and at times she has had feelings of enlightenment… I love that I’ve recently felt “enlightened” during some of my runs too, and today was one of those days.

I’m currently doing the Cool Running Couch to 5k program and after my first interval run, a new blog started to rattle around in my head which I’m calling –  “get out of your head”. As I mentioned earlier, I feel completely overwhelmed and honestly can’t seem to concentrate or get out of my own way. My biggest concern… my upcoming LA reunion with my Red Carpet Ready Girls which is on Sept 25, 2011 (btw – watch the video on the upper left hand corner – I’m at second 36) – this is the first time in two years I haven’t felt Red Carpet Ready… life just seemed to get in the way this time around. Regardless, I can’t fast forward to find out if I meet my fitness goals, and I can’t rewind to change the choices I’ve made that got me where I am today… the only thing I can do is make a plan and follow that plan until it’s time to fly to LA… and guess what will happen? I WILL see my body physically change over the next few weeks – How do I know this?  Because this has worked for me time and time again. As you’ve heard me “say” many times – consistency is the key…

There is so much more…  I need to paint the chimney, tar the cricket, and finish staining the deck before the winter. I need to cut back my gardens, finish this class I’m taking for the next 3 weeks from 6-9 pm, which is 3 nights a week, finish my presentation for my Body Transformation 101 – beyond diet and exercise program which starts on October 11th, lose weight before the reunion, eat right, get my workouts in, etc, etc etc!!! …again, the only thing I have control over is today and planning my tomorrows, but this time by setting completion dates for each of the above goals and consistently follow that plan…  and it will all get done. If the weather messes me up, I will just reschedule…If any of these things don’t get done, will the world end… probably not – so why worry.

We all have similar issues – life just happens to us all… but the key is to get it out of your head, put it down on paper, create a plan, consistently follow that plan and you will get it all done too!!
